Church To Decide When Couples To Wed

According to the hosts of Generation’s radio, if a single person is without a father it is up to the elders of the church to decide when the person is to get married.

Mind you, the individual discussed was not some 18 year old as Al Mohler and possibly even Dr. Dobson would suggest this as the proper age to marry, but rather a 31 year old.

By then, frankly, one should make your own decisions and not have the church do it for you.

If you are in a church that insists upon this amount of oversight over your life, it is my suggestion to get out now and don’t look back.

Also, it was insinuated that distinct feelings for your intended should not develop until the engagement.

If feelings have not developed by then, why bother with the misery inherent to marriage anyway as it is clear you can get along just fine without the person.
