A talking head at a Heritage Foundation panel discussion on counterterrorism mused that an increased number drove increasing the number of traffic fatalities even though flying was still safer despite the threat of terrorism. Not only is it a distaste of being splattered all over the side of a skyscraper but also the thought of security goons herding you like cattle while grabbing your crotch that turns many off to air travel.

In condemning an alleged consumerism that prompts many contemporary Christians to quest for a church that answers a longing that sometimes isn’t necessarily doctrinal or even liturgical, can’t that criticism also be an attempt on the part of church leaders to justify their own second-rate service or product?
In commenting on the weakness of the contemporary church, home school activist Kevin Swanson ridiculed the propensity of some to gravitate towards megachurches. But other than pewfilling, what other ministry opportunities are available in smaller churches with so little turnover that the same handful hold what few positions that there are decade after decade?

Must One Believe In Hell To Avoid Going There?
A gaggle of social media theologians
went at it on Facebook as to whether or not a minimalist sort of
Christian could profess a belief in Jesus but deny the existence of
Hell as a literal place of torment.
Granted, such a doctrinal combination
is a less than Biblically comprehensive and optimal one. Eternal
damnation is one of the most attested to of topics throughout the
Holy Bible.
If an individual professes such a
dogmatic formulation in an evangelization encounter, the soul of the
recipient of this deficient rendition of the Gospel could be
endangered.
One might conclude that simply passing
out of existence at the end of one's life wouldn't be too bad, simply
akin to falling asleep, and better than having to embrace the
limitations of Christianity in this life in order to prepare for the
next.
Yet it might be a step too far to
categorically declare that belief in Jesus but not in Hell is not
sufficient for one to slide through the Pearlie Gates.
It says in I Corinthians 15:1-4, “Now,
brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel...By this gospel you are
saved...For what I received I passed on to you of first importance:
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he
was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the
Scriptures (NIV).”
One would hope that those sincerely
seeking redemption through Christ's completed work would come to
accept the whole counsel of God.
However, if even those pleading
sufficiency under Christ's shed blood will still be kept out of God's
Celestial City as a result of those areas in which they still fall
short of the glory of God, not a single one of us will have a
snowball's chance in the disputed region of the Afterlife of walking
those famed golden streets said to be guarded by United States
Marines.

In an attempt at outreach, a church has decided it will go with all White greeters. How is that really appreciably worse than Southern Baptists so obsessed with minority outreach that the Convention’s current president was selected largely because he’s Black and the numerous ministries in that association now shoving their noses up the backsides of certain ethnicities?

Fanatic Homeschooler Equates Longterm Nursing Care With Euthanasia
According to fanatic homeschooler Kevin Swanson in his 9/3/13 Generations Radio podcast, those that place elderly family members needing assistance in nursing homes are, at least in spirit, complicit in euthanasia.
Instead, the truly pious individual takes care of such family members in their own home.
Those advocating this variety of stridency would then turn around and pitch a fit at those that would then not be able to afford to send their children to private school or be able to dedicate enough time to the pedagogy of the offspring with most of the attention going to address the increasingly complex health issues faced by the particular parent slipping into dementia or disability.
Secondly, if women are to be denied higher education as the Swansonites have suggested from time to time, how are these wives suppose to acquire this variety of expertise?
Thirdly, if the infirm needing around the clock nursing attention are suppose to be cared for in the homes of their children, what is to happen when the health of these frontline caretakers (who do not necessarily derive the same kind of endorphin high certain medical professionals seem to experience in these sorts of situations) find their own health compromised to the extent that they can neither oversee the wellbeing of their offspring nor their aging parents?

Headline reads that the swimmer that swam from Florida to Cuba vomited constantly. So do some with gallbladder disease, but you don't see them getting a media pity party. No one forced her to swim there. Is not like she was fleeing Castro's dictatorship. And why was she allowed to do this when the average American cannot travel to that island via more modernized modes of transportation?
A New Republic cover story points out that the public school system has failed non-conformist children. Does that mean students bored out of their wits because they possess a greater intellectual acuity than what the pedagogy is aimed at? Or is this code for urchins that need a swift smack on the backside because they aren’t going to listen to anyone telling them to sit still?
