A talking head at a Heritage Foundation panel discussion on counterterrorism mused that an increased number drove increasing the number of traffic fatalities even though flying was still safer despite the threat of terrorism. Not only is it a distaste of being splattered all over the side of a skyscraper but also the thought of security goons herding you like cattle while grabbing your crotch that turns many off to air travel.
